2024 CSCC ROAD RALLY SEASON

 
August Rally Results

Eighteen teams entered Cascade Sports Car Club’s final event in the 2024 Saturday Rally Series on August 17. Rallymasters Bill and Kelly Ferber gave us a route through Clackamas and Marion counties of about 90 miles from the start at Milwaukie Lowe’s to the ending location in Canby. It took about three hours to complete the course, including a mid-rally break at the Historic Butteville Store. 

Congratulations to the top finishers:

First overall and first in the Equipped Category – Bob Morseburg and Cheri Eddy
Second overall and first in the SOP Class – Alexander Castaneda and Eric Hanson 
Third overall and second in the SOP Class – David and JoAnn Gattman 
Third in the SOP class  Joel and Aksel Bristol
First in the Novice Class – Sean Pitman and Grant Heinzenrader 
Second Novice – Mike and Cheryl Knight 
Third Novice – Jon and La Vonne Albertson
Second in the Equipped Category – Gary Davis and Reid Trummel

The top teams received car wash coupons, coffee cards and candy bars. The taste of victory is always sweet. Congratulations to all!

Sept. 21-22 Mountains to the Sea Bonus Rally Weekend 

Time is running out, but we still have room for you. Registration for the Mountains to the Sea Bonus Rally Weekend ends Wednesday, Sept. 18. Register soon!

Do you still need lodging for Saturday, Sept. 21? Our block of rooms at the Hi-Tide Inn has expired, but Manager Chryshell Berg tells us there are still openings and she is willing to honor our block rate as long as there are vacancies. She asks that rally participants email her directly to make reservations. Don’t delay! Email chryshell@hitideseaside.com

The Mountains to the Sea Bonus Rally Weekend is on Sept. 21-22. Rallymasters Kasey Klaus and Torm Kelsey-Green developed a scenic fun-to-drive tour-style Mountains to the Sea Rally starting Saturday morning in Portland and ending that afternoon in Seaside. After results are announced and trophies awarded at Mo’s Seafood and Chowder at the turnaround in Seaside, enjoy s’mores around the bonfire on the beach. 

Then plan to spend the night, because on Sunday morning, Rallymasters Monte and Victoria Saager put together a bonus rally starting in Seaside and ending in Rainier..

Rally School  - Start the season with a virtual review of TSD road rally rules and procedures on Friday evening. Then run a practice road rally on Saturday morning to test your driving skills and navigational knowledge.

Saturday Rally Series - Compete for Series awards. Best five of six finishes count toward Series points.  To be eligible to win a season award, run at least three Series events.

Mountains to the Sea - Enjoy a full-day tour-style rally, following a fun to drive scenic route, starting in Portland and ending at the Pacific Ocean (Seaside, OR).

Ghouls Gambol - Cascade's Halloween daytime road rally explores autumn-colored foothills and farmland along scenic country roads. This easy time-speed-distance road rally takes about three hours to complete, including a mid-rally break. Expect treats and maybe some tricks. Prizes for top rally finishers and best decorated cars.

Entry Fee:

All rallies except Mountains to the Sea:

$25 per car for CSCC members
$35 per car for non-members


Mountains to the Sea:

$60 per car for CSCC members
$85 per car for non-members


Save with a Series Pass. $150. Includes entry in Rally School and all six Saturday Series rallies. Register just once to enter all seven events. Run the same car number with the same start time at each rally. Available to CSCC members only. CSCC membership is available online.

Save more with a Season Ticket. $210 for a 9-event season ticket. Includes all benefits and events in the Series Pass, plus entry in Mountains to the Sea and Ghouls Gambol. Available to members only.  CSCC membership is available online.


2024 Cascade Geargrinders road rallies:

Cascade Geargrinders road rallies are beginner friendly time-speed-distance events, starting and ending in the Portland area. Rallies are about 100 miles long and take three to four hours to complete. First car starts at 10:01 a.m.

Online registration is required: MotorsportReg.com.

Entry requires a street-legal vehicle, a licensed and insured driver, a navigator, and a smart device (cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app (app is free).

Rallies are conducted in accordance with the current Road Rally Rules.
